I'll have whatever's left in 2.5mm if there is, indeed, any left... Wish I'd have seen this sooner! sad

And another one courtesy of my girlfriend, capturing my hunger and desire at being woken up at sunrise...

Ha ha, I remember seeing those on the CCG site too Chris. Quality!

Found this one where I look like a phantom attacking a catfish...

Yes, the conditions seem perfect for an autumn cat. Unfortunately Sale is closed temporarily due to algae problems (!) and I've got to go to Scotland for a prearranged Halloween party. Great...

Yes, trout are way down the pecking order for the mighty Ebro moggies.

The 'self-take' facility on my new camera took some getting used to.

Nice one Nathan! Feel free to give us a shout if you need any Sale Water Park info for your columns - will happily divulge. Also, don't hesitate to send me any articles for proof-reading or whatever, as I used to write articles for angling magazines myself, many moons ago... when you could lock your doors and it was all just fields. Ooohh-arr.

£1 a pair? I'm off to Poundland! They're probably better than the ski glove I use currently, which loves to get caught in their pads... Well, they were designed primarily for providing cold-weather warmth, not for dragging out cats!

The Ebro contains all three species I believe, but you might be a bit pushed getting there and back during weekend!

Re: Winter Catting

Yes, I've been using livebaits since July-ish, but I'm presuming that the cats won't be feeding actively enough to warrant using them over winter. I've certainly noticed a lack of interest in my livebait rod since the weather's cooled down. Obviously I'm also just going off what I've read and seen online. It seems that most people call it a day till March-time so it's a bit of an alien territory! If anyone knows any different please let me know! smile

I'll be putting a night a week in for the cats over winter. Who knows...? Baitwise, I've reverted to one rod on double 30mm fishmeal pop-ups; the other on p-p-p-pellets and trusty worms on the third. In the past fortnight, only the pellets have led to a cat on the bank, but we'll see what happens in the next few months. Fingers crossed.

I use the Catfish-Pro 60" net. I don't find it too unyieldy to use one-handed, but then I'm from 'up norf', therefore am well 'ard. It's also great for netting people with too.

I can vouch for the Shimano LCs. Very sturdy reel and not that heavy, in my opinion. They usually appear on eBay fairly frequently at around £250-£300 for three, which ain't bad!

Cracking fish Paul. Did you have a bash on Crabmill in the end? I did a 3 day blank on there mid-August. Nice place to chill! smile
