funilly enough I was also looking at Manor as a second choice lake if St Johns is full.  I will probably start using BFO boilies and might pick up a carp if they can get their mouths round them.

I sort of guessed it might have been something to do with dogging but the best dogging venues are no where near Napton.

Which Lake was it then ?  Im guessing it must have been the pleasure lake, Ive fished the Carp lake lots of times and seen no evidence of any cats.

I will try and get there as early as I can but I cant promise owt.  Have you any particular areas in mind yet ?  Ive never been there before so it will all be new to me.

help im moving

Finaly Ive secured a job after about three months of searching and being fobbed off because im too qualified or not what they are looking for etc etc.
However,  as a consequence I will be moving a little further south to Banbury.  I know Orchid Lakes are a small drive away but does anyone know of better places for Cats ?

Any further thoughts on the transport side of this trip ?  Are others planning on taking advantage of all the tackle and food offers etc ?

Re: Boilies

July 18, 2009 by bigtrev

the only reason is to put any other fish off.  Im guessing that as they are barrell shaped and big that only Ctas with their big gobs would be able t deal with them.

If anyone has any thoughts on bait shape and size let me know as im always learning and would be happy with help and advice from the moggy collective

I made some up recently the recipie was

two eggs
10 ml of Prologic Monster Crab XXL
a big squirt of black food colouring (asda brand)
and enough pro logic Crustacia boilie mix to make a stiff paste

I wacked it all in the blender shells an all and rolled it out into 5 single baits about 30mm round by 70mm long

boiled them for 2 minutes so that the outer bit is hard but the inner bit still soft ish.

I havent caught owt on em yet but im going to make some more but blue instead

Yeah it sounds good indeed.  If John at Celtic can put home of the british catfish championships exclusive etc etc then you can put whatever you want on.

Hi Guys

Ive just got back from another memorial match down at Todbe manor.  I really enjoyed my time in Wales, I would like to echo Eric's post regarding the teamwork thing and how comfortable I felt with all of you other lads from Moggy Magic.  I learnt a lot from watching and listening to everyone else and Jonny was a great fishing buddy.

Im looking forward to France now.
