Never caught a Grayling in all my time fishing so would love to change that, anyone know of any dayticket stretches where i can go and have a good chance of catching a few? Fluff flinging or trotting i don't mind
Fluff flinging! count me out. Wouldn't mind a bit of trotting for them though. Carl suggested the Swale to me for them.
river itching in hampshire is full of grayling and its free fishing.Dave bumfluff chucking now i would pay to see that lol
he would have problems keep lighting his fags thats only reason he won't give it a go, nat have you got some locations and directions m8?
exactly, and thats whats so wrong with fluff chucking.... bacon sarnie in one hand, fag in the other, where do i hold the rod? (no suggestions, please!) And besides i aint in the Chris Yates fan club and don't own any plus fours or a tweed jacket and hat!
admit it you dont like it cause your ickle legs makes it hard for ya to cast and not keep hooking the ground behind ya
Nothing wrong with chucking some fluff dave, you are just too old to learn now aren't you mate? lol. The swale has loads in, but if its tons of grayling you want Brian, the river Wharf at boston spa is the place to go trotting. Tons and Tons of them in there, they are a bloody nuisance if you are trotting for barbel. It a mile off the A1 near wetherby. Day tickets from the tackle shop in the village. Cant fail on that stretch mate. Think I might have a go for some on the fluff this winter when I get a new fly rod to replace the one that I snapped the other week. Never had one on the fly, would love to get one on a dry fly. I fancy doing some piking on the fly this winter, I know just the lake, £3 for th day ticket if they ever bother to come round, and I had loads of fun the other year using a rubber frog. Loads of pike on the surface up to low doubles.
Cheeky Git. Its not that i'm too old to learn its just that i have that much knowledge in my head already i dont think i have room for any more. If i learn something new i might forget something that i already know!! ![]()
in all seriousness, the main reason i have never got round to fly fishing is that when i was younger nobody really fly fished for pike, carp etc. Trout just do not interest me. Stockie trout have to be the most stupid fish in the world and thats why most places make you fish for them with a fly. if you fished maggot or worm you would have your limit in about 10 minutes. I have never really fished for the pot anyway
Is that the same rubber frog you take in the bath with you?
