So very well done Nath. Have you got any pics, would love to splash them all over the site!!! I dont know about one of the fish of the year dave, I would put that down as the fish if the year! Well done, that is an acheivment and a half mate.
As for the charity thing mate, we were looking at the end of april, would love a couple of car fulls to head up the M1, hope you can join us nath.
The other fish that comes close was that massive eel 9.12 i think that was caught by design.
I was refering to cats dave but I will give you that one dave, that is a serious fish.

hiya kidda .ad a blinder of a season ,topped by a tone plus fish off the ebro a few weeks ago , done well on the 40s, a few 20s, plus upper and lower doubles ,and a new p.b english and venue record of 51lb 4 0z , not massive but still a good u.k cat ,took around 30 cats this year from a variety of waters north and south .enjoyed fishing talltrees in beds ,cats dont show too often ,but managed two in a session on the leech rig ,that ment a lot to me ,even if the cats were only mid doubles .cant say too much due to a no publicity ban on my water i fish at mo . but glad to see you still avin em mate too . atb buddy .
Looks like this season has been pretty good all round.

Thanks for the reply, some helpful info there and many congratulations on the capture of an even bigger catfish too!
What gear are you using to tame these monsters? I'm guessing your not on standard spinning gear? I usually use a multiplier and heavy spin rod. What pound braid are you on? - PowerPro?
Please get the pictures up soon the excitement is killing me - I can't wait to see such huge English cats.

I'm just giving you a gentle nudge buddy in case you haven't read this reply and I noticed you had been on other threads.
I know I'm a pain in the derriere but I am just so keen to find out more about lures for catfish and at the moment you seem to be 'The Man' so please post some answers for me.
Please, please get some pictures up I'm dying to see these huge lure caught cats.
I also read that you are getting a column - which mag mate? Should be a good read.
