Is there a specific method to hooking leeches as I always have a fcuking nightmare with them.
The rig I currently use (until I see the infamous yam-yam rig) is the normal leech polyball righ with a maggot clipp off the hair of the hook - it then usually takes me about 10 mins to actually get 3 of the suckers on the clip as I try to hook them through the 'sucking end'
No one will show me the yam yam rig and although I have the bits to make one I shall not bother as I use a rig a very nice person on here very kindly showed me. It is awesome.
Off the rig I use this arrangment.
I use a mono hooklink, and a thinking anglers micro ring swivel held onto the hook shank by 2 small beads either side the run ring. A small bit of sleeve on the swivel covering half of it to make it sit nice then I use the fox maggot clips. No idea why but the Korda ones do not seem as good.
I thread the leeches onto the clip and it take 5 minutes max. I do where some thin gloves though to avoid getting nipped.
The other thing that you can do is to pick the bloody things up in a baby wipe. For some reason they seem to stay a lot more docile than picking the horrible bloody things up by hand.
Scented or unscented ?

Ok so who's the mystery poster with the inside info on the yam yam rig then? lol
paul@pikin.wanadoo.co.uk is where to send it. Not got it yet
Don't be shy with it then
get it lashed on here ............... or e-mail me it please - I have just won a brand new 4.5lb test curve Catfish Pro rod for only £50 on e-bay (other auction sites are available) and will be picking it up from near Wakefield then fishing with leeches (now got some gloves)
Thats a bargain. No piccys yet, think we are being wound up
I doubt that you need it Paul, it would have to be bloody good to better what you are using. Congratulations on your PB mate, nice looking fish.
Regards,
Maurice
Paul (aka Pikin) can you do a diagram of the rig you are describing - I am bobbins unless I see a diagram
Ping me e-mail and I will sort something out later. Katmandoos home page shows the swivels in use. You simply substitute the hair for a maggot clip. I have some piccys on my home PC I am sure but at work currently.
Maurice you are correct but Satchy enjoys the windups I am sure. He is in Spain otherwise we would have had a response by now LOL!
pm
I reckon its Nat who's winding us up. If so, where have you been hiding for months?
