Walked into my local shop the other day and was having a good mooch around, as you do and I came to the conclusion that for cheaper cat tackle, general stuff, swivels and the like, that the best place to look is in the sea fishing section. A pack of 50, 80lb swivels for 2 quid, exactly the same as the fox ones and so on. If you dont beleive me have a look for yourselves. Should have realised earlier as the hooks I use are sea fishing hooks anyway. The best value braids on the bigger spools are in there too. Check it out next time you are in your local shop. Just thought I should pass the tip on. Public service broadcasting and all that. lol.
I twigged the same thing on hooks about a fortnight ago £3.99 for 5 large cat hooks 1.99 for ten sea hooks the same size????

I know what you mean. I believe High Wycombe is as land locked as you can get it! I think High Wycombe and Stoke are the 2 furthest towns from the coast!
Saying that, my other half is from Weymouth and we will be going there at the end of next week so will take a look.
