I didn't catch it. My grandson Simon who just turned 8 years old caught it on a treble hook that he had loaded up with shrimp and pineapple which the rest of the family was having at a cookout. They heard him yelling from the pond that he "needed some help" they rushed down to find him in a battle with the catch. He decided to stay with it himself which he did. He broke the rod but the line held and finally he got it to the band. They weighed it and he wanted to throw it back. He said "we might meet again someday" Simon has been walking tall ever since his big catch. The image is not very good. His mom took it with a cell fone or something.
Great pic and a lovely story. Hopefully your grandson will be hooked on fishing now for the rest of his life. Good to see that the fish was returned to fight another day as well.

Great to hear that he released it as well - its the future of fishing - wish i'd had the chance to catch a fish of that size at that age - I reckon its not a bad piece of angling !!!
