Hi
Anyone had much success on Blueys as a deadbait, I have caught Pike on them in the winter, they leave a real good oil slick in the water even in the coldest of weather. I still have a few packs in my bait freezer so I might give them a go on my next trip.
Also I have been fishing deads on the bottom without success, is it worth popping them up at varying depths on a polyball rig or even fishing them on the surface on a dumbell rig.
Thanks in advance
Dave
don't know about the blueys but definitely worth fishing deads about 15-18 inches below a dumbell rig

Have tried blueys a couple of times but no joy yet for the cats. Like you Dave I have had pike on them and every now and again find some in the freezer and pull some out to give them a go for the cats.
Will keep plugging away with them, as you say they are very oily, give of a good slick and also have the benefit of being rather tough and will cast a far way.
You boys have done better on them than me then, i've never had a run off anything on them.
The Thames pike seem to like them!!!
