Had a lovely couple days fishing at Willowbank last week but I caught no cats.

I did catch 3 pike up to 16lb's in there all on livebait ................ I seem to remember someone telling me you never get bothered off pike in lake 1 - can you remember Terry and Slain who it was grin

The worst part was I missed a run on my leech rig (3 big buggers on it) which I can only presume was a cat - put them on a maggot clip hair-rigged to a circle rig ................... I bet you know whats coming next ................... the alarm went mental and reel was screaming - excitement got the better of me and I struck into fresh air NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO was all I could think of for ages after that - I should have reeled in with out striking with using the circle hook. Sick as $%^& !

I did however witness the biggest cat I have ever seen on the bank - a beauty 67lb cat, it was a proper lump of a fish. The same angler also got a 40+lb'er on the same session

I have caught pike on leeches before so may not have been a cat (just by way of consolation) - 16lb pike is not to be sniffed at in the middle of summer though - nice one.

were any cats taken on pond 3?

Now then ..................... no cats were caught from 3 while I was there and talking to all the season ticket holders its been very quiet down there for a good few weeks now.

That 67lb'er was a cracking looking fish - really nice ............... was sitting down finishing my final rig to put out when the lad from 2 swims up comes flying past saying "I need a bigger weigh sling" this sparked my interest to have a gander - the rest is history.

I know I have talked about it before but I am now deffo getting the big landing net, bigger weigh sling and probably some decent braid for my spare spools (power pro 65lb shold do the trick) having witnessed the size of a 67lb'er I don't want to chance anything getting the fish in and taking care of it on the bank

At least this time only 1 of them was through the night (it was pi$$ing down at the time though).

Forgot to mention that some lads caught some eels from lake 3 while I was there
