Ebro next year anyone ???

I might be up for it Chris. Where abouts are you thinking? With some of the stories i've heard lately i would prefer Caspe to Meq. Also the problem with early season can be lots of flooding due to snow melt.

I have not got a clue when it comes to the Ebro as I have never fished it before - only what I have seen on tv and read in the mags. Up for anything really and not too bothered if its late April or May - it definately can't be the 13th of April as thats my daughters 5th birthday. I will be reading any material I can find on the place ............... would also prefer traditional tactics to get them (livebaiting) but not fussed if tactics run into pellets, as long as something large-ish is on the bank.

I think i am right in saying that livebaiting has been banned in the meq area now. I am over in Caspe at the end of August sio will hopefully have plenty of up to date info when i get back. As far as i know there are still areas where you can fish liveys that are a lot less pressured than Meq as well. It is so overcrowded there now apparently that there have been several big bust ups between the guiding services. I was talking to a guy a while ago who says he wont go back because of the atmosphere there, still plenty of other areas to fish though - might even be worth a go down on the delta.

For the previous 2 years me and a few mates have fished the lower ebro, they use live mullet and the hits are amazing. A lot less pressure and great value for money if you get a few of you going (they can have 3 to a boat). The biggest they have had is 182lb (lower ebro record). Be careful around early May as the fish tend to spawn around this time and are off the feed for a couple of weeks. Not sure if can post the website as the link with another company.

Hi Guys,march fishes well and early april but i would think twice about later part of april and may,fish are hit and miss[winter flood water and spawning themselves] and it can be slow!!!june onwards is excellent and obviously the best three months are sep oct and nov,hope this helps guys......if you want any honest feedback and information feel free to contact me at info@ebroadventure.com i will give you my honest opinion and i know,i live 50 mtrs from the river so spend every day on the bank,lol.

Just got back from sunny Majorca lads ................ I was unaware the best 3 months were at the arse end of theyear - lots to read up on by then looks of it

From everyone's recommendations and from all the info I have read I will (fingers crossed) be going THIS YEAR and in September or October (provided I can get booked in with some one).

Offer still stands if anyone else wants to go over - or if you are already going over and would'nt mind another tagging along

Wish I could mate, got a baby and a wedding on the way though so the only plane I am getting on is for the honeymoon am afraid. I think if I booked the wedding would most certainly be off! Now theres a thought. lol

So you have'nt told the future wife your honeymoon is a weeks fishing on the Ebro yet ?
