Hi all

Got thur/fri/sat/sun/mon off work, so i'm off to willowbank this afternoon,  hope to stay till monday aft.      I know the weather forecast is not great, but i'm hoping it will be not too bad.

I really don't know where to fish this trip,  but i'm thinking that if its quiet on lake 2 i might go on there and put 1 or 2 carp rods out and two rods out for cats, there are a few in there, and virtually no-one ever fishes for them, so you never know !

I think the only guy i ever saw seriously target the cats in lake 2 was a guy that used to fish there a lot, and he was fishing there before i joined in 1997, usually a member, but i don't think he's joined this year. I only knew him as catfish Brian, he fished lakes 1 and 3 mainly, but had a bit of a spell on lake 2 and caught a fair number of cats, this is about 3 or 4 years ago, as i recall.

I'm taking boilies, paste, luncheon meat, liver, and some halibut pellets, So we’ll see if i manage to fluke any out.

If i can’t get a swim that i fancy on lake 2 i may go down to lake 3.

The last time i was at willow bank it was absolutely chock–a-block, i’ve never seen so many people there, i’m just hoping it will be quieter this time.

If anyones thinking of travelling to go there this weekend, i don’t mind giving anyone the full gen on whether its busy or not, and if much has been coming out.

My mobile number is in my profile.

I’ll do a post when i get back to say whats been occurring.

Hi all

I fished till about 2:30pm on monday, but it was a disappointing session, i only had 4 small carp, and the weather was bobbins.  Fairly cool / cold, windy and very wet at times.
It started throwing it down with rain just as i'd got the bivvy about half down, and it had been dry on monday till then, and everything had dried out really well, so i was not too happy, as everything got soaked again, especially me.  And there was another downpour as i was doing my second barrow load.
Johnny101 and Monkeyhanger had a pike each i think, on lake one, and as i was packing away a guy had a 28lb 8oz common carp which i photo'ed for him, that was a really nice fish.
No cats caught at all while i was there, and no-one fished lake 3, with hindsight i wish i'd gone down there but never mind.
By all accounts it was the first weekend for about 7 weeks when it hasn't been really busy, wonder what it will be like next w/e (bank hol) ?
