I am attempting to create a new livebait rig but the only problem i am having at the moment is knot size - using 70lb mono and the knot I have always used (don't know what its called) is absolutely massive ................. basically i need the name of a small-ish know that can be made from 70lb mono
You are not going to make a small knot with mono that size mate. lol. The 4 turn grinner I always use when things start getting on the large side.
Yeah I realise it sounded a daft question but I have just got a copy of the new whiskers magazine where a bloke had a rig with 80lb mono on it and the knots looked really small in comparison to the ones i tried to do
Just looked on line and the knot I usually use for all fishing (fly & course) is the 4 turn grinner. I will try for a palomer (spelling ?) knot tonight
They are both excellent knots mate. Are you using that size mono for stiffness?
Spot on ............... I will get some examples knocked-up and bring them along to Willowbank - hopefully we will get some livebait to use them properly
If its stiffnes you want, what about a coated braid?
I have never used coated braid - will have a look
