So, anyone with any new and exciting bait ideas for next season, or has the christmas period rotted the old grey matter. Eel Section will be the bait for me next year, especially when I hit the river stretch I have targetted.
i'm going to try to get a few on live/dead baits because most of my cats so far have come to pellet. i will also be making some of my own boilies to use.
What sort of bait works best at the start of the season then ? Ive tried chunks of fish and ive tried pellets. Is it best to stick with one sort of bait or mix and match?
Moving on from my previous post ive made up some fresh (sort of) fish and Monster Crab flavour pellet/boilie gobstoppers about 50mm diameter. There only boiled for about 30 seconds to form a skin and the wife reckons that were getting a divorce cos the kitchen stinks. Im going to try them out on tuesday.
Let us know how you get on mate, I just use the same sorts of baits all season, although early season I will use bottom static baits more than livebaits as the cats are generally still sluggish. One thing I will say is that the baits I use no matter what all tend to be large.
i've been experimenting with boilie mixes myself, some to a couple of solutions that should work. one bait is a typical carp bait, LT94, predigested, bloodmeal ect the other is pellet powder, hali glug and liquidised liver/squid, both in 30mm. hopefully i'll be getting a few on them in the first weeks of the season.
