Does anyone here use a Humminbird Smartcast depth finder ?

I have been toying with the idea of getting the RF35 model which is a rod mounted monitor with a castable transmitter.

Hi Chris dont bother with the rf 25 or 35 there pants.
Ive had or tried most of the baitboats & fishfinders on the market.
Get yourself the RF15e & get it moddified, On the boat you will get a range of up to 200 mtrs, Casting around range will be approx 100-120 mtr.
I can do the modification on them, or if you fancy a go at it yourself i can put a link up for you, anything else mate just ask & i will be more than happy to help you.

One last thing DONT get the model with the Green transducer, Dont know if its true but apparently they interfere with the some other radio frequencies

Thanks very much for that Terry - I knew you would know about it.......I will start checking prices out for the RF15e model, once I get one I will take you up on the upgrade offer as well. I would just be casting it out as I have'nt took the plunge into getting a baitboat yet

From what I have seen the green transmitter is for the US market only, the yellow/ orange transmitter has been approved for use in Europe.

Marker rods are ok but, When you use a baitboat with all the Techno gadgets you can cover the whole lake a lot quicker.

As for the Carpforum i do visit it now & again to chat to a few mates.

Chris you can pick up a new rf15 for about £175 ish....s/h around £80-90
