i take it you've never fished a gravel/concrete swim? or maybe a swim covered in gravel? rodpods are a waste of money on soft ground, but a decent goalpost version cannot be lived without n some swims, mate. it also removes the need for a mallet on hard swims.
i have a pod, and i could not fish some of my favourite swims without one.
i dont personaly like rod pods but each to there own
too right. goalposts are a must have for catfish fishing.
banksticks for me purfect if you spread yours rods out like I do
i like the PURfect part, Slain, or was just a typo?
If it concrete then I set the sticks into the water. Lake beds are normally soft. There is always a way around it. I can see where you are coming from but rods restrict your fishing so much. One spot I fish in particular and I have had many many 30lb plus cats from it I just would not be able to put my bait there if I used a pod. Its a little gap between a reed bed and an overhanging tree. Using the banksticks allows you to point the rod at the bait and keep resistance to a minimum. And I have seen how dave fishes, rods everywhere but its the way to go, banksticks open up so many more spots that restricting yourself to an expensive and pointless rod pod.
i don't restrict myself by any measure, mate. i use single banksticks when i can but i don't discound using a pod altogether.
typo error you cheeky git
Wondered if anyone would pick up on it
