No we didn't weigh it, caught it about 2 am and it was peeing down with rain came out of a shoal of big bream. We were actually after double figure snots at the time took a 10mm white chocolate boilie. it was certainly a lump knew it wasn't a bream when I hooked it gave too good a fight.I have never seen one that big myself had them to about 2lb before, but not at this pit. Going back this weekend for a bream session my pb at this pit is 9-8 so far but there must be bigger.Taking the keepnet this time so if I get anymore will weigh them in the morning.

Well the cat gears away now and all my rods are changed over to carp rigs ready for the weekend. So going to try the pit again see if I can up my 9-8 on this pit to a double bream. Perhaps up my carp pb at the same time if I am lucky. Down from 22mm pellet to 5mm boilies, can hardly see the damn things at my age let alone get em on the hair lol.

Nick don't be embarrassed I got stuck on 16-3 for about a year and a half before I got a 20-4 which is my pb carp my brother was also stuck on 22 for the last 3 years till the bugger caught a 34-10 last saturday night at whitevane in sussex and it was his only run of the weekend. i am still looking for my first double figure tench.

i'm not really desperate to catch tench, the club record is 8-4 and i've had a 6-13, a 5-2 and a 4-14 in the two years i've been a member there, just about the only thing i can catch at a decent size, lol. i'm gonna give the carp PB a bash, a 20lb+ would be very welcome.

its taken me 12 years to beat my carp PB of 21lb 8oz - beat it a few weeks ago with a 22lb 2oz mirror.
that hybrid looks a good size - i've caught them to just over 5lb - yours looks at least that big ! didn't matt hayes get a massive one of about 7lb on one of the wet nets, record fish programmes?

My brother and I had a stonking Tench session a couple of years ago on our main club lake. We had 21 out between us and the smallest was 4 1/2 lb.All fed up to perfection by the carp anglers lol.
However whilst bream fishing at the pit I am going to this weekend I lost the biggest tench I have ever seen right over the net we reckon it was knocking on the 15lb door, 3am peeing down with rain had it on for about 15 minutes felt like throwing the rod in lol.

Well a very wet and windy night on the pit Boy I know how you guys felt down at celtic, it blew a blooming gale saturday night.
Bream didn't oblige only 4 small ones between about 2 - 5 lb had 5 carp and lost 5 but it was a nightmare trying to cast back to the area we had spodded too in the morning, and we were never sure if we were actually back on it, as the wind was so strong and blowing right to left across the lake. Which resulted in a massive bow in the line every cast and trying to pick it up with out moving the method feeder was nigh on impossible.
Still at least we didn't blank and then just to rub it in it peed down this morning so every bit of gear we have is soaked hey ho thats fishing.
