Dont ya just love Modern tecnology
Now its really getting on my nerves cos these fish are spectacular. Will try again later.
i see what you mean, that is one big mahseer, m8.
The photos wont embed but I will sort that later. One is on the topic headline on the general section, just click on it.
anyone recognise the faces? two of them are on the gallery pages and the middle one is on most magazines most months. I cant believe I didnt go, wish I had cos then todays news wouldnt have pissed me off so much, and the fact I missed holding a 45lb northern himalayan mahseer. One of the hardest fish in the world to catch at that size thats for sure!!!
it's a shame you didn't go but there's still chance for years in he future when you've got a new job (sorry to hear about that by the way). yes i did recognise the guys from the MM gallery, but i would never have guessed who the middle one was.
Bob and Stew on the left are the ones who have made the barbel dvd. Stew in my opinion is one of the best barbel anglers in the country and bob is just bob. James is a bloody good barbel man too. I couldnt believe it when stew rung and told me how it had gone. Devastated! lol. Have fished with stew for nearly 20 years now. The 45lb mahseer came on the second cast of the first day. Its a fish I would go half way around the world for. I cant recommend fishing in india enough. Bugger the ebro, if you want truly wild fishing for the hardest fighting freshwater fish in the world pound for pound then india is the place to go. I watched a 40lb mahseer towing stew down river in a small boat last year! Amazing!
We actually landed that fish about twenty yards downstream of a little backwater off the main river where a dead body that the crocs had been tucking into had come to rest. Was not pretty, and stunk like hell but the fish was worth it thats for sure.
that's one hell of a mahseer.
