the thames at chertsey bridge and the royalty fishery have both produced 30s. in theory any river could produce a 20.

Have you considered Hornsea Mere for the pike mate? Also tyram Hall near lindholme prison. The carp lake is open to pike fishing from november, had a few twenties out of there, also had a couple from the pond behind. Its a three pond venue, one is a match lake but there are some lovely pike in the other two and the odd zander if you are lucky.

Had a look round but be carefull, its run by a boat club and is impossible to fish from the bank as its about a foot deep for about twenty foot out. You need to hire a boat to find the deeper sections as it bloody massive. Tyram hall is as easy from you, its just off the M180 at hatfield outside doncaster. Good venue if you catch it right.

For tyram joey mackeral, peg 4 on the carp syndicate lake. Its the peg with your back to the jet ski lake and its just above the island as you look out. One rod close, one rod 30 yards and one rod about 10 foot out from the island. mackerel or herring all the way. Did a full winter on that peg and took over a hundred pike, some repeats probably but the 2 twentys and the half dozen over 17 were not repeats. When it gets a bit colder mate I will take you on the swale and have a pop at a river twenty. Know where a couple are but they keep eluding me, loads of doubles though.

Its a wonderful river but its a pain to get the right conditions in winter. I have a phone number that gives the river levels every day so you can monitor it throught the week. Will sort it out soon.
