Weather permitting obviously, (no good going unless water is warm enough) does any one fancy a session at pondwood next year when the cats wake up. It normally fishes really well as many as fifty cats a night come out. For reference as to distance from you, the nearest big town is Maidenhead in Berkshire. We normally fish Saturday morning through to sunday evening, cost is £30 two rods only, but you have to get there early saturday to get a good swim.
Night fishing is only by appointment once a fortnight so have to wait until the available dates are posted then we would have to decide in order to book ahead.
Rules are:
Two rods only.
No loose feed (bread and biscuit are allowed)
No ground bait.
Only live bait supplied (£1 each) no catching your own.
Barbless hooks only.
No boilies.
There is food delivered to the swim from cafe during the day if you want it and at night the local chinese, curry house, fried chicken and chip shop deliver to the car park.
It is only a small lake max 20 swims and a bit tight but every one gets on well on the night sessions so no hassle.
Biggest cat this year 42lb (but 42s have been out years ago so ?) numerous 20 - 30s it is a breeding lake so loads of kittens 1lb up to low doubles (last week end one guy had 11 out on luncheaon meat and 14 carp during the hours of darkness) So if you are new to the game there is a good chance of your first cat.
