Ignore him Adrian, he calls me a tart but what he hasn't said is that at one time or another he has had the same reels, rods and bite alarms as me, i have to keep changing to keep him on his toes lol so i can't be doing that bad he's just a plastic tart, just wont come out, bit like his closet carpingdevil

Sas,
If you want 3lb test then get the 3lb persuaders fron Simon. They are good rods. Personally I wouldn't get 3lb, I would go for the 4.5lb coz 3lb just isn't good enough for big cats. Like Mark says, if you want to catch kittens 3lb is ok but once they get into the high 30's and above you'll be struggling, especially in situations where you have to keep em out of snags.
Regards,
Maurice

OK, so I admit it, I am a tart!!!

SAS if you're interested, I might be selling my Catfish Pro Persuaders - 3lb TC when I get the Katmandoo rods.  Will put them in the classified section when I get the new rods.

Thats nowt compared to the tackle tart I was nattering to last week - he was over the moon about getting some Century Neville (carbon fibre) bank sticks - these things were £30 EACH ............... for a single bank stick ! Then of course he had to have the Century rod rest and rod holder for each of them.

He spent over £200 on basically a new set of bank sticks for his rods - now thats a tart

Its just a personal thing, Had loads of high thirties and a few fourties now and I dont feel I have done the cat justice unless I am knackered too. I know what you mean maurice about trying to turn a big one, I may be talked into going up to 3 1/2lb but I doubt I will go any further at the moment.

Hi Dale, welcome to the site. Erm, 60lb carp? A 60lb carp isn't in the same league as a 60lb cat, or even a 40lb cat   I think you've got a shock coming.
