Carl,

Just because a rod has a lot of rings does not mean it has the right action. You need a good through action for cats. Kev has already recommended Simon's Catfish persuaders and I can support that recommendation. I have four of the 4.5lb TC persuaders and they are good rods. Also available in 3lb TC.  If you join the CCG which only costs £12 you get 10% off anything you buy from Simon. That would mean nearly £40 off 3 rods!  You then have proper cat rods designed for the job.

Regards,
Maurice

Kev has shown us them down at Woodys and they are very impressive, i was thinking of getting a set myself but my budget wouldn't stretch that far so went for the Catfish pro rods, only thing that stopped me was finances otherwise i would have had a set . Next time maybe

As Bri says the katmandoo rods are very nice. You can feel the power all the way thruogh the rod but they also have a nice mellow action to them. For the tackle tarts (Brian and Karl) they look nice as well. yes they are expensive but they are Harrison rods.

Bit more info, the Katmandoo rods aren't just built on Harrison blanks, they're built by Harrisons themselves.

Hmm, that's why they are so expensive.

My international 3 S rods, S = Silure were £170 ea custom built on a Harrison blank at Anglers workshop in Stoke on Trent. They will cope with lines from 10lb through to 35lb and are a pleasure to play fish on. I have lobbed 9 oz of lead around on them and chuck 5/6 oz all the time.

Well lets be honest, for those of us that have seen them, the Katmandoo rods do look the part and from the guys say they do the job too!

If that's the case, what's wrong with being a tart???  devil
