September would be better for me as I have other committments in early April. I can bring along a Cat dedicated friend and also one not quite so cat dedicated friend. I will be driving from the Midlands and will be able to offer a lift if any one needs one.
Put me down to go whenever it is - it'll cost me a small fortune to bribe the wife but what the hell. I have always like the look of Lakemore and from the reports you gave Terry at Willowbank I have been wanting an opportunity to get there.
Russ - how much gear will you be taking ? I don't know if I would get all your gear and mine in the vectra
We can pick you up russ no problem, there are a few of us living around hull so we will be along the M62. I know what you mean about the ccg thing terry. I would have thought out of 600 or so members they could at least get 27 together. Its just a lazy to the extreme. I was very suprised when mark told me it had not been filled and we may get the oppprtunity to pick up the pieces. Felt a bit guilty in a way but if its their loss then it may be our gain. To be honest I think it will be september but I will say to you all it will be midweek no matter when, sorry but as you can imagine no venue owners want to commit to us booking a full venue over a weekend in peak season. Its just commercial sense. Anyway I am in full agreement with you terry, its bang out of order and if I had commited like you have then I would be on the same lines as you. Will start working on venues for the smaller regional events soon. Am on holiday for a week next week but will be back on the case when we get back.

Sorry for not getting back - I have been at the hospital everyday since friday last week with my 5 week old baby girl who contracted bronciolitus (chest infection) from her sister ...... fcuking nightmare !
Anyhow, as there are quite a few of us from up t'North you will be able to get to the fish-in without any problems - loads of time to sort it out.
Now then fellas sorry I have not been on much this week, started my new job yesterday and I am shattered. Quick heads up on this subject. The april thing has fell through, the offer to the original group managed to get filled finally so the april date is off, still the best time to fish in my opinion though but hey. So its a september date if thats ok with you all, and the venue top of the list is lakemore. Now I can get hold of 21 pegs which means we will have 2 lakes to ourselves but if we have more than 21 attending then its no problem, the pegs are big enough to double up. It will be a total cost for the lakes so we will just split it between the number attending. I have managed to get 48 hours midweek so what i need from you all now is to know what dates you are all available. The plan is for early in the month but I need to know from you all asap so I can start things moving.
Can I just add one more thing to my last post, I need from you all a definate yes or no once the dates have been decided. The venue has a fixed price and it is one of the premier venues in the country. If anyone wants a sneaky peak at the venue then track down the On Course With Dean Macey episode on catfish as it is this venue they are on, or visit the lakemore website, the link is on the links page of the moggymagic site. As some of you may know the only reason we were gonna get offered the date in april is because it was offered to the ccg and they would not fill it, I suggest you look at the ccg forum and read the topic, it illustrates the problems venue owners have, and the worries of people like myself when we organise these kinds of things. Now most of you regulars on here I have met and fished with and I am sure you will understand when I say that if you decide you want a fish in and to attend please dont let me down. Again I refere to the ccg forum thread. It makes me look bad and reflects badly on us as an up and coming website. Now I have not totally commited to lakemore so if the majority want something more southern there is another option I have up my sleeve but I think lakemore would be a better experience for all of us and more of a learning curve for the lads just coming in to the sport. The cost of the booking 2 lakes for 48 hours midweek at lakemore is a grand. Like I said we can double up swims to an extent so its gonna cost no more than 45 quid for the session, thats a £10 discount by the way. The idea is to split the total cost of the venue between the amount of people that turn up and dont forget you can bring people along who are not members, this site is not an exclusive club, any event we hold is open to anyone, friends and so on. I dont want this site going down the same road as many others and I am sure most of you will agree with me on that one. Anyway like I said I am giving you 9 months notice so time of work and so on is up to you to organise but dont moan at me that I didnt let you know in time. As I said I need definates from you all but try to make it as I know mark will make us very welcome, I know he views the site from time to time, and we will have a great 48 hours whether we catch or not. Dont forget to let me know any dates you cant attend so I can set the date for the maximum attendance.
Early September is better for me. and I will probably bring a friend too. I can pay now if you like (thats committment)
Nice to get some response fellas. I think we will start with members only but there is nothing to stop your friends joining up and coming along. So far I have only enquired about 21 pegs but I think more may be available if we want. Its hard because I would love a good turn out but dont want to overfill the pegs if you know what I mean, it might get a bit messy if we start getting runs at night. Anyway I am gonna throw a few dates out now and let me know what you all think. 2nd and 3rd of september? Its a wednesday and thursday, or 8th and 9th? Thats the tuesday and wednesay the week after. Give me your verdicts, if its a positive from you all then I will start sorting out deposits and so on and seeing how many pegs we can fill and whether we can fit any non members on and if so how many. I dont want to sound like a snob with that and sorry if I do but obviously members have to have the first shout but as I said before its free to join up and if anyone fancies it then get them on here.
2nd and 3rd would be perfect for me if i can physically get there! if i can get to the venue i'm in. i start 6th form on the 4th or 7th so i couldn't make the 8th/9th. that is of course assuming my mate gets his driving license by then lol.
Dont worry nick we will get you there, there are people dotted all over the country mate, you will have to be nice to eric, lol.
I just might get my arse into gear & join you for this dude, would be good to meet up again & blank. lol
You better do lazy git, its right on your doorstep! how you been anyway big man? You know the venue as well as anyone, am relying on you to give us the heads up.
So are we settling for the 2nd and 3rd then? I need to know either way from as many of you as I can. I need to know whether its worth making a commitment plus I would like a rough idea of how many of you want to come. If I could have a yes or no from you all and a number of how many that would be great. Please dont be lazy on this as I have a few other cat projects happening next year and I want to get this sorted as soon as possible otherwise I will struggle for time in a few months. I am stickng my neck out here and running around trying to put on a good couple of days fishing on for us all, a chance to all meet up, swap ideas and make new friends but if I dont get a good solid response of at least 20 people willing to commit then I will scrap the idea and we will sort out smaller local things but we can do these anytime and I would like to make the large meeting a yearly thing. I am sorry to put pressure on you all but it is 9 months away so I am giving you plenty of notice, so far I have 9 people willing to commit or gonna get there arms twisted into it, lol, but if I can have some sort of reply from you all by the end of december that would be great. If I dont get 20 willing to commit by the end of december then I wont bother cos like I said come march and april onwards I will just be too busy to organise it. Again I am sorry to press you on the matter but I need to get on with it.
