hello everyone, im laurence obviously and im 17. I live in north dorset and this is my first season catfishing properly, as i did i few half hearted attempts last year and failed. but over the winter i did a lot a reasurch and found my terminal tackle all wrong and tatics also way off. Unfortunatly ive only been able to go out fishing 5 times this year so far as my father suddenly past away at the begining of june although he saw me catch my first cat which was brilliant as he knew how much it meant to me, he drove to the water at midnight jus to see the fish and photograph it . since the i have for me a brilliant season, taking 4 fish in 4 trips to todber manor. and one blank at a water called coking.

oh yer my p.b. is 15lb 13oz

Hi laurence, its nice to see a lot of younger anglers taking up the moggy chase. Why dont you send me the pic of that first memorable cat for everybody to see. Evreyone should be proud of their first cat, its a moment to remember. If you want to put your pics out there for everyone to share then go to the gallery page on the main site and follow the instructions. All photograohic donations gratefully recieved.

Hi All
This site is a great idea. I live in the south have been fishing for about 50 years plus and took up catting recently, this is my second year best to date 36 lb 8 oz. I am lucky in that I live about half an hour from pondwood fisheries which is the local premier cat water where they feed day and night. Having said that this year has been very slow for me, last year my best night was 10 cats including two over 35 lb. I got hooked when I caught my first cat of 29lb 8 oz on a bunch of worms.

Thanks for the comments about the site, glad you like it but its still a work in progress so if you have any ideas for the moggymagic website, rigs, bait or whatever then feel free to voice them, I dont confess to have all the knowledge there is on the subject so other opinions and ideas are also welcome. I built the site for people like us, to have a basis on every aspect of catting for us all to start from and for anybody in the situation we have all been in when starting out, to get as much help as we can. Feel free to send me any photos you have for the moggymagic gallery pages, the instructions are all on there. Again welcome and thanks for joining.

Afternoon all,
I am 34 years young and live in Hartlepool.I only have experience of catching 2 cat's (14lb and kitten) from Adams a couple of weeks ago, but I have lots of experience when it comes to blanking. The closest waters to me are Grafton Mere and Elvington (hence the amount of blanks). Really keen on trying Willowbank soon (before the wife gives birth to our 2nd in October) so I will be asking questions about the place.

Regards

Chris

Now then mate wondered where you had got to. welcome to the site, did willowbank on thursday and its fishing a bit hard at the mo, Needs some rain and wind on pond 3 to stir it up a bit, its gone a bit crappy. Whether you chose to fish 3 or 1 i would recommend half roach or skimmer. Liver works well and a livebait rod is a must. Was there with slain, catman and monkey hanger and we hammered 1. Slain had a couple of nice pike and chris had one around ten but no cats. Check 3 out first and if it looks good go for that one but whichever pond you fish, fish bottom baits tight to the margins or islands and the liveys in open water.
